SNF > EMMYs

So did you watch any football today? Bueller? ... Bueller? Well, in case you were too preoccupied with the farmers market or bottomless mimosas with your girlfriends this afternoon, you're in luck because tonight the Philadelphia Eagles face off the Atlanta Falcons and let me tell you why this is going to be better than watching the Emmy Awards (which you'll hear about all week on Fashion Police, E! News, and even CNN anyway): Michael Vick is headed back to ATL to play against his former squad! He was a hero before the whole dog fighting debacle...but then he went to prison for 19 months. Anyway, he's in an Eagles uniform now and is ready to strut his stuff on the field (and yes, he is a phenomenal quarterback)...and is expecting a warm welcome from the crowd. Would you cheer or boo the man?

  1. I'm a Philly girl (woman) living in Calabasas and yes, I did watch our "Phila Eagles" look sloppy and took a deserved loss. The Emmy awards coupled with our Phila. Phillie's took the edge off of the Eagles debacle as did being with family & friends for the 4p-8p telecasts. However yes, the Phillie's also lost on Sunday but no worries, they already clinched the National League East title. And it's always nice to watch Hamel pitch. Nice eye candy. I hope Vick was not hurt and will come back for the next game, however the back up QB did not look too bad. I think he has potential. Great time of the year, Football, Baseball playoffs soon, Hockey soon to start. The best of all worlds as I am not a basketball fan, surely not a Laker fan.

  2. Love the post, Green Eyes! We value all of our readers and that most certainly includes you. This blog would not be possible without your support and we hope that you continue to take part in the amicably competitive dialogue that sports engenders and above all that we continue to make you laugh...with a nice dollop of insight!

According to my sources, Vick looks stable after suffering from his concussion on Sunday against the Falcons and should take the majority of the snaps against your rival Giants later this week. After all that fuss in the Eagles camp to discourage Vick from scrambling, it was in the pocket (a magical place where defensive lineman would ask for permission before making him eat dirt), where he got injured. As for Kafka, can we say Kolb 2.0! He looked like a stud muffin but I can understand why he'd be welcomed back on the bench by you rough and tough Eagles fans.

Your Phillies look fab and Hamel is indeed a sight for sore eyes. They should make a deep run in the playoffs with arguably the best starting rotation in the league. Howard's been all over those Subway commercials!
